Skin Requests

Members with a VIP Perk can request custom skins from the Steam Workshop for XSkinMenu in-game via Discord #skin-requests.

Overview

To request custom skins, please make sure that you have linked your Discord during the checkout process when you purchase VIP. This will give you the VIP role in the Discord, which will grant you access to the #skin-requests channel.

Locating Skins

Before requesting a custom skin, you will first need to locate the skin in the Steam Workshop. The Steam Workshop can be found within Steam by going to Library > Rust > Workshop (tab).

From the Rust Workshop you can browse and search for custom skins. When you locate a skin, click on it to get the link. The link should be located in the top of your Steam client and should be formatted as https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=xxxxxxxxx, with xxxxxxxxx being the skin ID.

Copy this URL as you will need to submit it in Discord.

Requesting Skins

Locate the #skin-requests channel in Discord, under the Rust Server section.

Post your link that you copied in this channel with nothing else and hit submit. No comments or information is required.

The channel has a 1-minute cooldown to allow the bot to process requests efficiently, so please submit your requests one at a time, 1-minute apart.

Please be sure to post a single link per post. Do not paste multiple links in a single message as the bot will not be able to read them.

Any post not matching the link format above will be deleted by the bot.

Approval Process

Once you have submitted a skin request, the request is sent to Staff for review.

Requests are reviewed in the order received as time allows. You will be notified of the decision in the #skin-requests channel, either by a post from the bot or a green check emoji to your request.

Most skin requests are approved as long as they meet content guidelines for the server. Once approved, skins should be available immediately in-game.
