Rust Origins Server
Overview
In general, the Rust Origins server is scheduled for bi-weekly wipes.
This means that the server wipes on forced wipe (the first Thursday of the month) and then again on map wipe (two weeks later). There are times where we do run 1-week or 3-week wipes when there are five Thursdays in the month. We have also been known to run a monthly wipe for certain occasions, though rare.
Forced Wipes
Forced wipes occur on the first Thursday of the month and the server is always wiped on this date.
On forced wipe, we reset Blueprints (BPs), Skill Tree Points (ST) and Prestige Levels. We also reset the map, Ultimate Leaderboard, and Vehicle License, so effectively all progress is reset.
Map Wipes
Map wipes are generally two weeks after a forced wipe.
On map wipes, we only reset the map and Vehicle License. Players get to keep their Blueprints (BPs), Skill Tree Points (ST) and Prestige Levels.
First Wipe of the Year
For the first wipe of the new year, we also reset RP so that players have a fresh start for the coming year.
Map Selection
We run both procedural and custom maps depending on the wipe. Occasionally we offer several maps to VIPs to vote on in the #origins-sneak-peek channel within Discord a few days before wipe. Other times, staff will make a map selection based on the theme of the wipe.
Seasons
Each month of Origins at Alliant Games is considered a new Season, with Season 1 starting in January 2021. A Season can be a full month wipe or broken into 2 or 3 parts, depending on the number of wipes in the month.
